Race Ya!

23 of the finest pax in all of Carpex-sub-region-Apex-Wednesday-bootcamper-regulars gathered in the gloom this morning for a non preblasted beatdown by YHC. Pax pulled in with minutes to spare, EC runners caught their breath, and has 0530 hit we dished out the disclaimer, raised our hands to our hearts for our country, set our Stravas, and took off towards the school. A long lap around the Bus Carpool loop and to the church courtyard for warmup: [Read More]

The Great Pain Stick Parking Deck Caper

YHC has had a commitment EVERY Tuesday night for the past 8 weeks. This prevented YHC from posting at Rush Hour…until this week. And the Q slot was open. So the stars aligned and I made my first trip in MONTHS to the finest AO in DTC on a Tuesday evening. A couple of us were there early, including Kevin. You see, Orphan sent us a message earlier in the day that his buddy Kevin, an FNG, would be visiting Rush Hour. [Read More]

Wilt and Copperhead Dora

YHC had a great beatdown planned for Back in Black this week. Unfortunately my good buddy Yoga Mat did most of it during his Respect Week Q last week. Went back to the drawing board and came up with this. Warm-Up Disclaimer and Pledge, then mosey over to the Koka Booth entrance for three rounds of quick feet and irkens, then to the bottom of the hill and circle up for cherry pickers, Steve Earles, arm twirlies, seal claps and copperhead merkins. 20 of everything

Started to get a little nervous this morning as it was just mere minutes before Main Event here at Tortoises and we only have 5 PAX in attendance. I knew we had a Nan’tan Q taking place not too far away that might be getting a large crowd. Next thing I know 3 out of 4 doors open on Meatloaf’s car and we are now up to 8 PAX. No FNG’s so let’s get started with the pledge. [Read More]

Who ordered the vanilla cone?

As one of the site Q’s of this AO and a huge kettlebell advocate for working out, I took my time in coming up with a somewhat complex workout for today. Mumblechatter was high today as the Pax were trying to learn many new exercises introduced for the first time today. Let’s get started! Warm-up- Mosey around the pickle and circle up for some extremely slow Good Mornings, SSH’s, seal claps, and calf stretches. [Read More]

Freedom Rings even when you're Dazed and Confused

Date: 11/15/19 As I was trying to develop the workout, all I can think about is honoring all our Veterans this week and it’s RESPECT week. I always like to do something different in my workouts. It’s fun to scour the Exicon for new exercises. So, I dug deep into the list and brought out some stuff I’ve never heard about. Read on to know what we did: F3-adminstrivia done. No FNGs. Run Out of Ideas? Just call Merkins

Preamble Disco Duck put out the challenge on Thursday. “Who’s man enough to Q The Green Mile?” Well hell, being RESPECT Week and all, I can’t ignore something like that. So sign up I did. With the Nation converging in Pinehurst, I started crootin’. Got a couple of nibbles on Slack and lo and behold, 9 of us showed up for Carpex’ premier 90 minute AO on a Saturday morning (notwithstanding Whiplash which is not actually in Carpex - unless Shutty has declared Imminent Domain on that bitch.
