Friday, Fellowship, and Faith

17 Pax were out and ready for a solid beatdown. Partially true. Their were 17 pax there. But what started out as a fitness test quickly turned into a fellowship-pace-fitness-test-cluster. But that’s what F3 is about. It’s more than a workout and sometimes the workout is secondary to just being out there in the gloom with your bros. We got in a great beatdown, thanks to Callahan’s 3yr old “fitness test” he created but most of all we just had fun. [Read More]

It's Gotta be the Shoes

Strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/2533656518 17 Pax gathered at Cary’s Koka Booth VIP lot ready for a high tempo beatdown led by YHC (or why else would I be writing the BB?) As the crowd gathered it appeared we’d also have a high tempo mumblechatter kinda morning. And boy did we. 1 FNG, formerly known as “Ken”, now referred to as Snapback was there. He has lived here about a year and was a referral from the Cape Fear boys, where SB used to live. [Read More]

It was quite Beige in the heart of Bradfords Ordinary

19 pax show up, everyone in one of Becky’s freshly pressed TT’s, no FNGs, gloves not required. Straight vanilla., or beige? 7 Rubberbands follow Angry Elf for stretching. The remaining 12 BOs head to the bank to warmup with various stuff. In plank position, Burt is called on …….. ? And he calls calf stretches. Yeah we were all thinking the same thing, waiting for it to sink in. Really? Shaking away the cobwebs, gathering his wits, he then has us going into a progression of calf stretches, merkins, and …. Sweatin' Bricks

A humble group of 8 HIM’s gathered early for the EC with Jiggly arriving even earlier at 0445 for his first of two laps around the lake. We dodged many a toad along the way. Today YHC Q-subbed for Peeping Tom who remains on IR recovering from an unfortunate cycling accident. He and Greenbow smartly chose to Mall Walk this morning’s workout while ten of us sweat with some bricks. [Read More]

Welcome to the Worst. Hobby. Ever.

It was a lonely morning as YHC rolled up to Green Hope Elementary at 0505 hoping to have someone there to spot me on my quest to improve pullups. Finding none, YHC attempted some pullups, managed to eek out one, and did some dead arm hangs to work on getting better. Since I had some extra time to spare, I searched for and found the extra special Pain Stick that Banjo had hidden away (for reference, it is located on the North side of the North entrance to the parking lot, stowed away behind a green utility box). 7 is the lucky number.

Fern Gully

In recent months, we’ve encountered a herd of fern people (h/t Hermes) from Lifetime Fitness exercising in our parking lot. I thought this morning, we could return the favor… Augmented rolled up with an FNG, so YHC took a crack at delivering the full disclaimer. Pledge of Allegiance, mosey across the street to 8000 Regency for the warm-up. Warm-up (I humbly suggest that Carpex is in a warm-up rut, so I pulled a couple new ideas from the Exicon): [Read More]

Got it bad, got it bad, got it bad...

17 PAX loaded up on the bus and came out to Olive Chapel Elementary to kick off the hard launch of the new Apex AO “Hot For Teacher”. YHC had the Q. Tunes were rockin’ and the two co-site-Q’s long hair was flowing in the breeze. It almost looked natural on Cataracts….almost. 0530 – Typical F3 spiel. Modify as necessary. And seriously - don’t sue us..we only own a beatup Ford Econoline van with no A/C and 400K miles, our knockoff Stratocaster electric guitars and a busted amp that doesnt even go up to “11”. Pre-BRR Hills Today Boys

YHC called a pre-BRR hill day with four laps up the big hill along Cary Parkway (0.8 mi round trip). A few HIM’s arrived early for the EC, then we went right to it. Top exercises (one each lap): 30 LBC’s; 30 Freddie Mercs (4 ct); 30 Dying Cockroaches; 30 Hello Dollies. [Read More]
