May the Carpex 4th be with you!

YHC is not known for Theme workouts, and to be fair, this is the only themed workout I’ve ever done, and could very possibly be the only. I’m just not very creative. I saw the Q spot open and grabbed it….LONG before realizing it was on May the 4th…..AKA Star Wars day. So, I had to come up with something. I even created a playlist, then left my BT speaker at home. Til Valhalla

By chance, the Q for Rolling Stone this week was vacant when Hello Kitty sent out the Sunday night lineup for the week. By even better chance, Friday was May 3rd, the third anniversary of the death of Naval Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Charles H. Keating IV (SEAL). See, I did not know Charlie. He grew up in Arizona and was an elite runner who ended up at Indiana University on scholarship. [Read More]

Warm-Up Start with a lap around the pickle (including the stem at the entrance) then circle up on the basketball court for good mornings, windmills and imperial walkers. With the PAX properly warmed up Hacksaw tells them he knew YHC before I was known as Disco Duck, he knew me when it was Wild Bill Deese. [Read More]

The Jim Parsons Project

YHC rolled into the grounds of Flying Circus, arguably the finest AO in west Cary on a Thursday, to see a couple of HIMs already on the grounds. A few pull-ups are done at the baseball field, and eventually there’s a solid dozen ready for a good sweat-fest. Disclaimer is disclaimed, Allegiance is pledged, watches are started, and we’re off. Warm Up Mosey around the parking lot and circle up for Good Mornings, Steve Earles, Moroccan Night Clubs, Seal Claps, and Control Freak Merkins. [Read More]

Two Bricks in Hand is better than One in the ... nvm

When Frisco asked me to Q Claymore, I was more than happy to oblige him. We settled on a date until we didn’t. In typical Frisco fashion, he had already promised the agreed upon date to another PAX. So YHC happily shifted to the right on the calendar and here we were. On a lovely 62 degree morning, Annie Jones Park was our oyster. Twelve gathered for the Pledge of Allegiance where in the shadow of Old Glory sat a yard cart full of landscape bricks YHC pulled from his garage that morning. [Read More]

Tortoises musical beat down!

Spartan Training #1 at A Team

Date: 4/30/2019 QIC: Parker YHC signed up for the Asheville Spartan Super later this summer, following in the footsteps of Build-a-Bear, GTL, Malpractice, Spartan, and I’m sure a bunch of other PAX who enjoy this sort of thing. BaB just keeps telling YHC to work on grip strength, so that’s what we set out to do today at A-Team. 15 PAX gathered at the gate, disclaimer and F3 mission statement given, Pledge said, and off we go.
