Groundpounders

YHC rolled into Jones Park with WWW in his truck full of toys, ready to close out the Carpex-to-SW part of #QSwapWeek at Groundpounders. The parking lot filled up quickly with friendly faces, some from Carpex, some from South Wake, and before long we had a crowd too big to fit the workout we had meticulously planned. Looks like we need to modify, so we’ll modify as needed. Warm-Up WWW takes us on a lap around the pickle and circle up for good mornings, hamstring stretches, Sir Fazios forwards and backwards, air presses, seal claps, overhead claps, calf stretches with merkins, mountain climbers, and plank jacks. Well, a day passed, and so did a year. First post and Q of the new age, at the greatest AO in Downtown Apex on a Thursday morning. Tossed the notion of an EC run out there, and I was joined by the Site Q in training, Sub, and the craziest man in Carpex right now, @djvtec (who has just signed on as the sixth man, on the 6-man 2019 BRR team, aptly named F3 Carpex Pick up the Six (TM) (R). Pressure

It was cold. The morning started at 0500 for an EC run by 3 of the aforementioned best. When YHC showed up at 0505 for EC pull-ups, they were long gone, and it was just me and Bob Seger for pull-ups and Merkins. Dumpster Fire showed up just in time for the two of us to get some quality 2nd F time in and go for a ½ mile warm-up run. [Read More]

Leg Day at Back in Black

Where did this cold weather come from????? I much prefer the 47-55 degree band and look forward to getting back there! Several Pax know I somewhat regularly hit the gym after F3, and today was supposed to be leg day in the gym. My original plan was to hit F3, then go lift. Unfortunately, I’m slammed with all-day meetings and did not finish my presentation yesterday, so I need the time to do that. [Read More]
