Figure Eights, PBRs, and Other Stuff

Q DATE: November 2, 2018 23 HIM for the inaugural Gran Torino Q on a fantastic November morning. The workout plan was stolen from inspired by Freydaddy’s Catalyst Q YHC posted at last week. Since Gran Torino is hi-tempo it needed to be tighten up a bit. We covered 3.7 to 3.9 miles and did some other stuff. Warmup • Pledge allegiance • Jog over to the front of the school • Take a lap around the figure 8 formed by the carpool and bus loops • SSH x 30 • Frog hoppers - like a squat jump but just using feet and calfs for jumping - Hi-liter commented that they were a bit effeminate - next time we’ll do kegels [Read More]

The Road Less Traveled...backwards

It was several weeks ago at Full Metal Jacket when some Q (I’ll just say Hi Liter or Riptide to cover my bets) called 7’s and in a very respectful and diplomatic way, Callahan screamed out from the PAX that we’re doing them wrong. He continued that 7’s were not just shorter versions of 11. He then grabbed his ball and went home. Being a good person, I wanted to make sure he was ok so I reached out to him and asked him what he meant and how could I make things right. [Read More]

Water Wings Week Part Tres

An Evening of Firsts

YHC has finally officially posted at all 21 AOs! (And right away it’s remembered Claymore is spankin new and so that number is changed to 20…either way it was a first time for YHC to post at Rush Hour, let alone Q. But with plenty of experience at BO “going in blind” wouldn’t be the way to describe it. A large sum of pax showed up for this one, 9 of us in all. [Read More]

Battle Buddies Unite!

Monday was the gloomiest of the gloom. About 50 degrees and pouring down rain. This is the time of the year that really shows a PAX true grit and determination to be a HIM. TBH, if I did not have the Q this morning, then I would have been a RHC to the Fartsack….. Anyways, as I stood under the largest tree to stretch and somewhat avoid the rain, I see a few of the PAX arriving from an EC run. [Read More]

Bear Crawls, Burpees and Boppits

Week two at Claymore, the best lit limited running AO in all of Carpex, and the parking lot is filling up fast. Can YHC handle a big crowd? Let’s find out. Continue the warm-up with side straddle hops, imperial walkers, copperhead merkins, mountain climbers, copperhead squats, then pick up the other 7 burpees OYO. [Read More]
