Burpee-cides and Bear Crawls 04Sep18

Descending from a Labor Day Weekend mountain-top experience of Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, and campfires was hard enough. But when the first two sentences spoken to me were “Sky Blue was worried you wouldn’t make it.” and “Can we use your Old Glory calf condoms as a shovel flag?”, I knew we needed to re-instill some semblance of order and discipline in Carpex (amiright, Nantan?). Standards have to be met and exceeded here people. Waterbugs

A big downpour in downtown Cary was not enough to keep five waterbugs away from Rush Hour. Warm-Up Brisk walk over to the far side of the pocket park for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios, mountain climbers, merkins, squats and cotton pickers. The Thang Brisk walk to the middle of the pocket park, then bear crawl to the side with the wall for irkins, ALRSUs, dips, ALRSUs and derkins. Starting off LABOR DAY weekend

LABOR DAY weekend … the official end of summer. Most kids are back in school and the days are turning cooler, a little. There was plenty of heat at AO Phoenix for starting off the LABOR DAY weekend right. Yogi had locked in the Q at Phoenix for today, but he handed it off to YHC during the week. I wanted to EH a HIM to co-Q, so new guys will keep stepping up and Q’ing. [Read More]

B R aRen't

18 Pax made it out to Hunter Street Park for a lovely 74 degree and 94 percent humid morning. Slack chatter was looking for an unfriendly BRR beatdown. Lots of mileage was logged yesterday so YHC agreed. See, not always Angry Shutty. Sometimes Very Accomodating Shutty. Here’s what went down after the 0545 disclaimer and Shut-In Shignature warmup… Thang 1: Plank-o-rama First pax took a lap around the soccer field fence and circled back up at the skate park. 11 x 2 = 22

Second Q ever for YHC was to the point with some room for improvement. Cadence counts are getting better and everyone had fun… I think. It was quiet, not much in the way of mumble chatter for this beatdown. Thanks to the 18 that showed for the track work and 22’s. It was a beatdown and according to GTL possibly a new record for distance with the 3.5 miles we racked up. [Read More]

The Forgotten Q

In case you haven’t heard BRR is coming up soon. Like next week soon. Like you won’t have to hear about it anymore for a while soon. Many, many moons ago Hermes suggested we all take Q’s this week and do running/hill repeat type work outs which we were all enthusiastic about signing up for. Come today and YHC forgot that he signed up to Q FWD. Fortunately someone was kind enough to ask me what we were doing that day which started the conversation of how I was the Q today and so on and so on. [Read More]
