53 and Counting

Since Angry Elf and I ceded our actual birthday Q to young Cap’n Hook, YHC grabbed the day after - the first full day at 53 years of age, and first full day at 43 for Angry Elf. Hello Kitty put out the word there would be an EC so I rolled in at 5:11. Upon seeing Largemouth and Chanticleer standing there, I almost kept driving. Luckily, Kitty was of the mindset and we took a nice 2-miler to warmup for what would become a tough morning. [Read More]

Against the Wind

YHC asked about the Dante’s Peak mileage record last week. An innocent question, and not expected to turn into a thing. But since Sooey had the Q the week before me, he took it as a challenge and ran us 3.3 miles. Now it’s up to YHC to top that. Let’s see how we did. Warm-Up Mosey over to end of the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops, hillbillies, copperhead squats, planks jacks and copperhead merkins. [Read More]

Hello Turtle

YHC has yet to Q at the premier limited running AO in all of Apex on a Wednesday, and with an open spot on the schedule, I jumped on it. 4 for an EC loop around the peak of good living, tclaps to Earhart, GTL and the Duck man for rolling with me. The time is 0530 and we’re ready to go with 17 studs, and 3 vests present. Warmup: [Read More]

They lock the baseball fields when it rains

It was your typical Wednesday Morning Buffet. Several arrived early for a little Insomnia appetizer. The Ruckers and the Vespers all grabbed their food to go, and the rest of the SNS crowd dined heavily on Turkish Get Ups, Bropees and Absolution. With some Twerkins for dessert. And although we didn’t start with a Good Morning (sorry Nature Boy) we did end with a Have a Nice day. And a new word was created. [Read More]

It's Just a Little Rain

YHC is an admitted podcast addict. Sometimes the family gets a little tired of listening to ANOTHER podcast in the car. So I ran across a series of four podcasts done last year, hosted by Hollywood and featuring OBT and Dredd. They talked a lot about how F3 got it’s start and the 3 Fs. In one of the conversations Hollywood mentioned doing the Cooper, and of course I looked it up on the Exicon. OIBeach Day

With a solid crew at OIB for the Memorial Day weekend, we summoned the best of the best for a Saturday get together at the pier. 6 Pax in toe including an FNG, plus a pup ta boot and we’re off. YHC took the reigns to start us, the ‘76 bicentennial shovel flag (OIB’s official unofficial shovel flag) looked on, as we ran the pickle and met up for SSH, Imperial Walkers and Mountain Climbers. Star Course 001 AAR

50 miles under a ruck. Just the sound of it was intriguing from the start. A few guys from Churham seemed up for it, so I signed on the dotted line in early March, with 10 weeks before the event. When CK came up to me at a workout and asked about it, everything started to come together. Once he was assured to be injury- and travel-free, he was in too. [Read More]
