14-199 Ruck WoD 2/21/18

Four swarthy gents posted for this week’s Rolling Stone hosted at SnS. YHC saw a recommended workout posted this weekend in honor of Jerome Gonzales, a GRT and Pathfinder who died this past weekend during an event. It sounded like a good time: http://www.teamspearhead.com/2018/02/17/jerome-gonzalez-14-199-pathfinder/ With that, we grabbed an extra ruck along with 40# and 60# bags, and headed for the ball field lot. There, we did: 2-minute AMRAP push-up (no ruck) 2-minute AMRAP sit-up (no ruck) 2-minute AMRAP ALRSU with ruck Burpee time: 10 ruck burpees, farmer carry ruck 80yd in one hand 10 ruck burpees, farmer carry ruck back in other hand 10 ruck burpees, recover. Another Rainy Day in Kryptonite City

Date : 02/19/18 , QIC Fluoride Roll up to Kryptonite for my Q with 2 mins. to spare, early for me. Surely it won’t rain 3 weeks in a row, Wrongggg!!! Granted it was a light rain and slightly cold, but rain none the less, and I hate to work out in the rain. The usual crew was there but good to see some new faces, Snots, Jigglypuff, Texas Ranger and Yogi, and Burt who is semi-regular, hard to miss him when you get out of the car, pontificating on the news of the weekend. The Nautilus - Writ Large

When YHC’s alarm roused YHC from YHC’s dream about a land where Burpees are always in perfect form and L-R counts as 2 lunges, YHC said to YHC, “YHC, it’s a great day for YHC to have the Q at YHC’s favorite AO at a USA Baseball Complex directly adjacent to a toll Interstate that YHC spends several of YHC’s pretty pennies on. But, what should YHC bring to the party today? 2nd Time Around

Shank put out the APB for a Q on Sunday night. YHC perused the work calendar for a moment, and heeded the call. I was set for my 2nd ever Q on Thursday at BO, but in retrospect I’m glad it came a couple of days early. Monday, being President’s Day, provided the rare opportunity to double dip for an AO survey and an outing with my 2.0. The last few weeks have been bittersweet on that front - my M is 36 and a half weeks along with our 2. [Read More]

Octonauts to the Octopod

There’s valentines day, and then there’s the day after valentines day. Well, that was today. 10 HIM’s gathered in a very pleasant 50+ degree gloom at the finest AO in Northwest Cary on a Thursday morning, and were looking forward to a workout that unbeknownst to them was borne out of a children’s TV show from across the pond…. BUT, wait, what are those lights approaching…getting closer….coming in hot on two wheels…. [Read More]

Apex's newest Kettlebell Workout - Hells Bells

Another great Monday morning to start at the best AO in Apex (I’m biased of course). Nine (9) fellow animals were out this morning getting their workout with the assistance of some 25lb to 45lb friends. It’s a great way to start your week and have I said how good the group is? PAX: Earhart, Sooey, Crimson, Capone, Beaker, WWW, Red Ryder, Wilbur and Monkey Nut We all roll in about the same time, at said time we start grunting like Crimson. [Read More]

Mucho Chesto Merkin Mile

Wolverine’s starting time moves to 5:30 next week, and YHC was honored to Q the final 5:45 workout. It’s a special occasion, so I knew I had to bring something special. I pulled into the parking lot and the conditions were perfect. Dark, raining, not really cold but certainly not warm. Perfectly gloomy. Warm-Up Mosey over to the middle school parking lot and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios forward, Sir Fazios backwards, hill billies and cotton pickers, all x 15. [Read More]

A Toast to the HIM of Carpex

YHC became Texas Ranger on February 18, 2017 at Bond Park in Cary. Thanks to Ollie for an awesome F3 name, more cool than what I deserve. So, anniversary Q, here’s how it went: Pre warm-up: YHC announced his anniversary Q and invited the PAX to stick around after COT for a toast to the HIM of Carpex, with a little Powerade, water, and um, Scotch (The Glenlivet, my favorite). Rucker see, rucker do

Rolling Stone 2/15/18 at BO YHC had a plan for Rolling Stone today, I swear.. but I also had a feeling that it might be a good day to join Banjo. And so it was. While the rest of the group paired up to complete sets of 100, the three of us split up the work in thirds. It seemed a fair trade with the addition of 30 (or 45) pounds. [Read More]
