mis-Q-mmunication

14 Pax shook off The Odyssey hangover and took to a high tempo beatdown by YHC. (Here’s our Strava from Michelob) Some chatter on Twitter last night meant when YHC saw a white honda stroll in to the parking lot right after 0545, he wasn’t waiting… (Un)fortunately we have some HIMs in our region that waited on FF and brought him to our warmup spot. It was definitely the first time I’ve had to call an exercise while we wait on the 6 to get to the warm up circle haha! No Mercy

13 HIM came out to A-Team just 48 hours after the CSAUP Odyssey seeking no mercy, and getting none. Cheddar-Bo showed up to unlock the gate as the PAX were gathering, but YHC made the call to stay where we were. Warm-Up - Mosey over to the parking lot next to the big hill for some SSH, imperial walkers, plank jacks, merkins, and possibly the slowest version of Good Morning in Carpex history. [Read More]

Odyssey Eve at the Peak

11 brave PAX ventured out on Odyssey Eve, looking for some last-minute prep work before the main event. YHC was feeling competitive and decided to battle it out between two teams through a series of four relays and races. Here is how it went down: Warm up Quick jog through the woods, bear-crawl over Bear-Crawl Bridge Pit stop at the pond, 10 burpees OYO Continue to the far parking lot, paint the lines and then circle up [Read More]

Pre-CSAUP: A stretch, some lunges, and proper hydration

On the eve of the Carpex Odyssey, YHC was left to ponder at what level to push the PAX on this fine October morning. Knowing that a good stretch, and hydration were essential, YHC set out to deliver a well-rounded “beatdown” in hopes that lactic acid would be pushed out of the PAX legs and arms, and that those participating in Saturday’s CSAUP would be well lubricated for the event. And with that, Coach Kitty was on the Q for: [Read More]

The Pre (pre-launch, pre-blast, pre-naming)

Arriving at the site, Goose and YHC were hoping that other braves would show up to give this pre-launch a boost. Fear not, this is CARPEX…..there will be men. And mighty fine men at that. After planting the site shovel - soon to be a shovel flag (something new) - and, thank you PBX, FOD’s shovel flag (something borrowed) the site co-Q’s YHC (something Sky Blue) and Goose (something old approaching “respect”) were ready to get the day started. BH Benchmark Day!

WARM-UP On this fine August morning the 19 PAX headed west on Hunter St to the Bladestone Ct parking lot for a little stretching and warm-up. A few SSH, merkins, calf stretches and good mornings was all we needed (no arm circles today boys…). [Read More]

Little of this, little of that

9/28/17 Rumors were amidst the PAX this morning that there had been some Q shopping to avoid another Benchmark day with YHC. Dismayed as they were, YHC decided to save for a later time, thanks to the beat down given by Shank and McCants on opening day for Full Metal Jacket., AKA The Murph. WARM-UP Mosey west on Hunter Street to the Baucom Elementary bus parking lot for some SSH, Merkins, calf stretches, and good mornings. [Read More]

Variety is the Spice of Life

4 (3 runners and a rucker) showed up at BO for the #meowmile. We picked up 3 more at the halfway point where Hello Kitty subjected us all to HIS 55 fantasy football penalty merkins on the way back. Wait, did I just type that? Merkins are a bonus, a pleasure, a treasure, dare I say a gift from God. After the completion of the #meowmile, we gathered up at the flag for the traditional “swapping of the shirts” for #TTT [Read More]
