Rock on, A-team

Strong showing of 14 PAX at A-team on the launch day of another new Carpex AO. I wasn’t sure what kind of attendance to expect after all the hype surrounding the first day of Wolverine, but you can always count on allure of one of Carpex’s original workouts. No hype, no nonsense, not even a Twitter account. Just hard work and clean livin'. Welcome FNG SunPass! Warm Up Progressive warm-up to get us from the locked gates toward the back of ACP 20 Side Straddle Hops, IC 15 Imperial Walkers, IC 10 Windmills, IC 20 Merkins 20 Mountain Climbers, IC Thang 1 [Read More]

10 Yards of Football

The troops gathered late at Slippery when wet – but gather quickly they did. We had a visitor from the Mother ship today – Cheese Turd (or perhaps it was Curd) who made the mistake of following Nature Boy into the park after seeing the F3 sticker on his car – I think it in involved three U-Turns before the got to the right place. Once we were together, we circled around the parking lot and then into the back grass field for some warm up. Back to School

BB 20 HIM joined YHC on a trip down memory lane–actually, it was down Hunter Street–to visit one of my favorite spots at BH. The gloom…the pull-up monkey bars…the long distance from the park…we’re talking about Baucom Elementary School’s back playground area. We journeyed there on one of my first posts at BH. Time to go back to (the) school. The Warmup - Pledge of Allegiance at the Shovel Flag - Jog to the parking lot of Lee’s Tailor Shop…backwards run for fun on the way. [Read More]

It's a numbers game......

Numbers here, numbers there. We are inundated by numbers. How fast were you driving, what was your GPA, how much did your house cost, what is your income, how much did you pay in taxes, how many times have you posted, how long have you been doing F3. Numbers are everywhere and some are good and some are not so good. Today was a celebration of numbers for Crimson. The first number of celebration was 19. [Read More]

Q That Will Live in Infamy

YHC tweeted last night that this would be a Q that will live in infamy. It would prove a portent of things to come. For, in a cosmic coincidence of epic proportions, both site Qs actually showed up at Danger Zone. I mean, when was the last time that happened? Has it ever happened? Did they recognize each other? Also, Sputnik posted for the first time since Chanticleer broke his wrist at BO. [Read More]

Everyone needs a little encouragement!

So I found out on Monday that 9/12 was National Day of Encouragement and that Chinese Downhill needing to switch so I had the Q! Must be God’s providence. Woke up to rain so plans changed a little. 8 guys started out and we headed up the Cary Parkway hill to the covered parking. Now for a little encouragement! My favorite verse on exhortation is Hebrews 3:13. “But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. [Read More]

No Stairs, No Squats, No Lunges

Three PAX showed up on a rainy afternoon for a workout that promised no stairs, no squats and no lunges. Unfortunately none of our 9/11 stair climbers posted. Next year we’ll promise lots of stairs, squats and lunges. Warm Up Mosey over to the parking deck to get out of the rain, find a few empty spaces so we don’t get run over. 15 side straddle hops (YHC did them Nature Boy style - WOO! [Read More]

After weeks (months?) of run training for BRR, doubling up most mornings (Insomnia + Vesper = CRAZY), several #themaynards, it was nice this morning for a PAX of 9 or so to head off for a coolish Vesper. What Sore Legs?

After a GroupMe fartsack shaming on Tuesday - the day after the 9/11 stair climbs and only a couple of days removed from the BRR - when only a handful of CarPEX PAX posted, the boys showed up in force; from the looks of it, pert’neer 40 of them. We’ll count-a-rama later. After a round of fist bumps and a doo-rag tying lesson, it was time to roll. Let’s go! [Read More]
