Mamma Mia!

18 PAX were treated to a fine TTT at BO. Whether they knew it or not, they had gathered to help YHC start off his 43rd year on the big ball the right way. YHC spent some time last night thinking about how to include the maximum amount of suck into 45 minutes, and I think it paid off. All but the music, which was packed with pure 1975 gold. Except for that ELO song. [Read More]

Impromptu

I drive into Tortoises because Freebird, my running partner is in West Virginia and Ohio this week on a much-needed vacation. By driving in I was able to post a shovel flag for the morning event. I had not planned to Q this morning but saw Disco Duck sign-up last minute so I offered to co-Q. 6 PAX gather in the gloom including Crimson, who drove in by himself. Who knew he had a car? Raindrops keep falling on my head

YHC planned for some music to enhance the enjoyment of the beatdown and thankfully the theme from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was not on the playlist. Since the speaker and phone were already set up on the field, a little/lotta rain wasn’t going to change my plan. No FNGs, but lots of new faces and we were off. Mozy around parking lot and enter first soccer field. Warm-up [Read More]

CARPEx CSAUP - The Odyssey

Gentlemen, As you may have heard, F3 Carpex is excited to announce the inaugural Cary/Apex CSAUP - The Odyssey! October 7th at 0600, men will set off on a journey like no other, roaming the streets and greenways of Cary, sweating, gasping for air, laughing continuously, working hard, and sweating some more. You will not want to miss this! For the newer PAX, a CSAUP (completely stupid and utterly pointless) is an extended beatdown intended to push you to your limits both mentally and physically. More Jets than Chargers... sadly

Going into this VQ, I was hoping to achieve Hall of Fame status but at the very least hit #MinimalCompetence. I thank all the PAX family for putting up with the latter while I work towards the former… you aim for the Hall of Fame but you sometimes have to go through the Jets to get there. But that’s beyond the point… in celebration of TCU Alum LaDainian Tomlinson’s upcoming induction into the NFL Hall of Fame, 13 PAX joined me for a VQ beatdown-ish. [Read More]
