Time for Deliverance

June 12, 2017 The Twitter machine for today’s FOD workout kicked off early yesterday with a PBX call out for deliverance. Funny how karma works. YHC played along and immediately took the Q spot at #F3RushHour, dueling Banjo Qs in one day. Yes it is time for deliverance. The line has been drawn between the sedate city lifestyle and the unpredictability of the rural margin. Deadly weapons remained at home but the dueling Banjo Qs began in earnest at FOD. [Read More]

Three years, 17,921 burpees (and counting), gel and Hot Lips

28 men and a three legged dog gathered on the streets of Apex this morning - since Cheddar Bo didn’t open the gates - for what YHC had provided clear notice would be a beatdown of anniversary proportions. Or, as YHC says in short hand, “fun.” And what an anniversary it was. Three years in the making thanks to my friend and mentor Life Alert, who in 2014 opened my eyes to the SadClown disease affecting my life, and who with Prenup, made the trek down from Raleighwood to be here for my Q. Lulu's VQ & 8 months of gloom

Looking back on 8 months of the gloom, since my first post at SNS, I can’t imagine life BF3 (before F3). I remember feeling the hook and leaving Bond Park that morning wanting more. Needless to say, F3 and the PAX have since become more than an early morning workout for me. F3 is brotherhood, accountability, mental and physical exercise, discipline, growth and now (thanks to Shut-In’s not so optional invitation to Q) practice in leadership. [Read More]

Aristocrat Does Not Know Jack

Terrific late spring morning. Low 60s. Dew Point of 45. Couple of Shovel Flags planted. 21 of CarPex’s dudes came to Danger Zone to get stronger. At 5:35 there were only 2 cars in the lot…one of which was in my usual spot. Not a big deal since it was Tecumsah who is relatively new to Danger Zone, but not F3. He is a beast. At 5:45 20 dudes were ready to roll and then in rolled Marlboro. BO's Young Guns Exploring the Fountain

An unlucky 13 of F3 Carpex’s (mostly) young bucks today in downtown Cary. A lot of young guys out at BO today. Millennials must be responding to Riptide’s Snapagrams or Instachats or whatever he’s doing to promote the AO. YHC had been eyeing the new Downtown Cary Park and fountain as a workout spot for a while and it didn’t disappoint. First, ran to the library plaza for a standard F3 Carpex warmup. [Read More]

Saban v. McCants - Who Brings the Pain

So pardon the informality of this post, but we’ve got a new Word Press and it appears my computer doesn’t like it. Much like I don’t like weak ass trash talk on the Twitter. There’s nothing worse than some guy sitting around in a schmedium tank top, waiting on his mom to bring him the meatloaf, acting like a tiger on social media. Tell ya what, Palooka, why don’t you put your phone down and bring the pain. Little Bit of Running, a Lot of Work

YHC was NOT going to miss this one! After last week’s brain fart, I put a plan together OYO in my head and set the alarm early. The first one to arrive, I decided to explore a little bit. What’s this hill back here? Hmmm, Omaha! New plan. 6 more PAX showed up, including the long lost WWW. After a bit of catching up, we jogged over at 0530 to the front parking lot for some paint the lines and quick feet before circling up for: [Read More]

Park Day

With project weeks coming at me at breakneck pace, I’m having to fit posts in where I can. Seeing an open Q at Rush Hour Tuesday afternoon, I had a chance to squeeze in a workout between work at work and work at home. As you know, I lean toward covering some ground. TOC has some real estate that I hadn’t seen before, so a consult of Google Maps helped me plot a course. [Read More]

Baseball Bear Crawling

22 Stallions showed up for some fine work this morning. We tried to run to the fancy ball fields, they were locked. We circled up did some warmup, ran to the upper parking lot, did some bear crawl and crawl bear inchworming, then we split up in 4 teams and did some merkins, squats, burpees and sumo-squats at the corners (bases), running, bw running, crawl bearing and bear crawling between bases.
