Gloomless

A Pax of 5 for a gloomless F3 Class. Welcome FNG - Gala. The Rush-Hour name of this “Class” or AO or Workout or meet up or whatever we call this thing that is the 1st F is absolutely perfect. This was my first post and Q at this workout (M and 2.0’s are at the beach for spring break). It is a completely different atmosphere than a typical 0545 workout. [Read More]

Memorial Day Warm-up

Once in awhile, it is nice to post at an F3 location that has one substantial exercise, or small sets of exercises that repeat for a good 35 minutes. It becomes a sort of moving meditation with your mind becoming the only deterrent. That is the beauty of the “Murph”. For those of you who do not know, this workout is titled after the Navy Seal Michael Murphy who was killed in action during a firefight in Afghanistan in 2005. Great weather, Great crew, Great site, No Nantan, No site Q, oh what to do....

Thanks to Nature Boy for texting me yesterday asking me if I was attending A-Team. In response - I checked the Q schedule and what to my wondering eyes did appear - but my name next to the Q spot for today. I guess that seals it, I should attend. Planning can be overrated - just ask Callahan. Arrived this morning to find gates closed (nothing new here) but spring is in the air and everyone seemed to have extra pep in their step. [Read More]

What to Expect When You're Expecting

As a fairly frequent Q and poster to Carpex workouts I feel like I’m a pretty good numbers guesser. This is key when planning a workout. Helps you to pick the right excercises, etc etc. So for this workout I planned for about 12. There were 6 the week before and then average numbers were mid teens. Good guess right? There were 23. And that’s with Open Out fartsacking as I waited out from of his house for a few minutes. [Read More]

Cary Brewery Tour in Golf Attire

Beautiful morning in downtown Cary this morning - Burt showed up in full golf attire to celebrate the first Thursday of the Masters (John Daly shorts, Footjoys, putter, etc.) He looked good - but later on learned that footjoys are not the best running shoes. Pleasantries exchanged, Coney gave a quiet disclaimer to our FNG, Nantan started barking about the time so we were off. YHC shot down the road like he was out of a cannon, around the corner. Limited Run or No Run

Earhart and I did some EC and arrived 8 minutes early to scout the potential equipment/locations to mix up the Q site. Pull up bars…Not really Ball Frenzy Pit….Maybe we could us Weird retaining pond hill….Definitely Nothing too earth shattering but many small obstacles that could be incorporated to get a good lather going. Imagination will be the key to unlocking the potential this site has when you look at all angles. [Read More]
