Scorned Beast [The Crick]

 When: 03/22/17  Where: The Crick  QIC: Banjo  The PAX: Amtrak. Bumblebee. Candlestick. Dabo. Mr. Slate. Oflex. Spurrier. Trump. Watson. YHC Banjo Thanks to Mr Slate for picking up YHCs slack and leading the men through warm-up. It is not that YHC disrespects the pax. Quite opposite. It is one of thankfulness and admiration. These men are understanding of YHCs continued Wednesday tardy behavior. And with that respect, Mr. [Read More]

Rucking 101

[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8E8MDObXBg[/embed] The Interwebs are full of “ruck 101” posts.. why start another one? Great question. The answer probably lies somewhere between hubris and helpfulness. You be the judge. Anyway, here are my thoughts. First.. Why? Why in the world should I do one of these? It sounds awful. 12 hours of being beat-down? No thanks. It’s not about that. It’s about you, contributing to your team. It’s about the people to your left and right. [Read More]

Shoulder day

YHC doesn’t make it out to the Field of Dream AO all that much. Bit of a drive and YHC has taken to the option of the post work Rush Hour AO option in the previous months. Still, its always good to see the men of West Cary and Apex and occasionally Ma Bell if he shows (he didn’t). But lets not start calling out our esteemed Nan’Tan here. No way. [Read More]

13 Lucky Leprechauns

Q: Hotspot 13 Lucky Leprechauns met on a crisp 24 degree morning to bring the luck of the Irish upon them. There was an announcement the previous evening that those without green would learn the lesson with penalty burpees. Well as it turned out, all were taught the penalty burpee lesson regardless of attire. YHC did appreciate those that tried to accommodate the request for festive attire. Warmup which was really needed [Read More]

Hermesversary week Part 2 of 2

1 year ago I posted at my 2nd F3 workout and first in CarPex at which I was named by our now NanTan - Ma Bell. It was brutal, we spent the entire workout carrying around brick pavers. I was sore for days! And I was hooked! This has been an awesome year of growth for me physically, spiritually and in service. I am very grateful for the leadership of the F3Nation and specifically all the Q’s in Carpex! [Read More]

REFINERY lesson in Action

Men in these parts have gotten quite comfortable in recent weeks. Ma Bell and protege PBX had been sporting their “wife beaters” in true Kevin Bacon style. The pax have been a bit foot loose, over sure of themselves. 50 and 60 degree am temps can do that despite Puxatawny talking winter. There will likely be some baby showers come November and December. But this week changed all that. Subfreezing mornings, downright downpours in the gloom, problematic AOs were seeing a reprieve. [Read More]

Worst weather

33 and a steady and times hard rain. This is the definition of gloom and is not generally tolerated well by the PAX that show up. YHC has done it all, super cold to super hot and 33 and rain with steady wind is the worst. Still duty called and a commitment is a commitment. With a new AO that commands support, there was no way YHC was backing out of this Q. [Read More]
