Carpex 2020

Fellas, 2019 has been an AWESOME (shoutout Bartman Growruck School) year for Carpex. We celebrated at the annual Christmas party and I talked a little (lot) about my vision for Carpex in 2020. I wanted to just get it down on paper for those that didn’t hear or weren’t there. And maybe as an encouraging reminder to those that were there and did hear…most of it. F3 doesn’t happen without individuals who step up. [Read More]

Closing out Claymore for 2019

A small but spirited group gathered for the last Carpex limited-run workout of 2019 at Claymore. Conditions were near perfect, with temps in the mid-40’s and dry conditions. Half Pike led us in the pledge and we went off for a stroll around the pickle. Leprechaun and Half Pike took off at top speed until they realized that they didn’t know where we would wind up. We wound our way back to the flag for some warmups: [Read More]

Closing out DTP and 2019 with a VQ

With an impending night of debauchery in store for most, an impressive 28 rolled out of bed for a VQ by YHC to close out 2019. I must say, I couldn’t tell at first if I was honored to have that many show up or to pity them for what might be a disaster first Q (probably both). Either way, after going over the F3 mission and core principles with the FNG (nailed it btw), we headed out for what I was hoping to be an “END THE YEAR BEATDOWN. [Read More]

Frisco FOMO

YHC and site Q had the pleasure of leading the group on the last Hells Bells of 2019. By the end of this week it will be my 1 year anniversary with F3. I couldn’t thank this group enough for how much this has meant to me to be a part of Carpex. With my 1.0 in town for Christmas and a member of F3 Cleveland, I knew I had to bring my A game this morning. [Read More]

GM with the Beast without the mileage!

AO: The Green Mile Date: 12/28/19 PAX: Biner, Crimson, Deuce, Disco Duck, Trike, WWW This workout was a week beyond schedule. The original date was 12/21/19. Unfortunately, I picked up a 48 hr cold bug on 12/20 which, I could not shake off. I had to give up my Q to true HIM, Franklin. He was gracious enough to accept a Q swap on short notice. It was greatly appreciated. [Read More]

Why? Because We Can

For all of us who are in familiar surroundings, around our families and friends, Christmas can be a time of good food, good times, and celebration. Some of us, YHC included, have been eating way too much good food, and hitting the egg nog with frequency previously seen only when Clark Griswold got his Jelly of the Month club bonus. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to those who are unable to spend Christmas with their families, due to being deployed all over the world. [Read More]
